Things I don't understand:

1. Why did The OC have to end?

2. Why do peace protesters want troops out of Iraq? If it could be shown that the troops were making things worse, I'd understand. But there seems to be mixed reports on that. The main reason that seems to be given for why we should take them out? They'd rather have the money spent on other things. Nice. I bet Iraq would rather have not be invaded, but unfortunately it has been and we should be focusing on improving a terrible situation rather than saving our own bacon. Yes, going to war was idiotic but we can't change the past. We need to look at rectifying the situation as it is, rather than dwelling on what might have been. I don't understand the world.

Also:

Not attacking Iran.
Keeping troops in Iraq.
Israel and Palestine.

Some overlapping issues there, yes, but they're still fundamentally DIFFERENT questions. God the world depresses me.

3. I'm in a foul mood and I don't really know why. I am angry. Possibly you can tell. But I am not sure what at. Except stupid people. Why are so many people so intrinsically stupid?

Things I do understand:

Little Miss Sunshine. It's great. They're not stupid people.

I am going to see Regina Spektor play on The Culture Show tomorrow and apparently there's space to bring another person - does anyone want to come? It's being recorded from 9.30 to 3.30 and you get a free BBC lunch (good times!) and limitless soft drinks... It's Mark Kermode and Lauren Laverne.

If you do want to come, let me know asap! Anyone is welcome...

What insane idiotic bloody ticket selling people thought it would be a good idea to sell the tickets for not one, not two, but THREE popular bands on the SAME DAY?!!! Those websites can barely cope with one band. Fucking idiots. I must have filled in the seeticket form 10 times and didn't get a confirmation at all. It kept saying there was a problem with the order form.

So I went to ticketmaster, which worked fine. I got two tickets for the Manchester gig and all was well.

EXCEPT apparently one of the seetickets forms did work. So now I have four tickets! I can't afford four fucking tickets. That's over a hundred pounds. And I don't want four tickets! What am I going to do with four?!

Why is the world so unnecessarily cruel?

Can I cancel an order? What do I do? Help me before I actually go insane, please.  No I do not want to sell them on eBay.

For everyone who bought The Indelicates single (and if you didn't Shame On You) solve the riddle and find hidden C-sides on the site, it is entirely worth the time you will spend thinking it's impossible. They were brilliant on Saturday again, despite the sound problems. Plus any band that has riddles (yes there's more than one) to solve on its website that lead to exciting things is clearly wonderful.

Okay, someone please reassure me this isn't true before I plunge myself into a pit of despair.

I swear the man on BBC3 just said that HOTS had announced Reading and Leeds as their last two gigs and they were splitting up because enough people hadn't bought the album.

Please tell me this isn't true. Please please please.

The Indelicates have their first single out this week on limited 7". I can't remember being this excited about a band since... well since a long while ago. I listen to them and I get that little tight bubble in my chest that I've missed so much the last few months as I was delving further and further back to find new (for me) music I liked. Discovering a band from 30 years ago is great, but it's just not the same as discovering one you can follow and watch grow, and actually go see live without having to buy the remaining members zimmer frames. And they are fantastic live. If you've only heard "Waiting for Pete Doherty to Die", don't judge them on that alone - they're not just a one-shot gimmick song band, ya know. In fact, most of their songs are a fair bit heavier, although the lyrics are just as sharp - sharper, in fact.

Anyway, if you don't know The Indelicates, check them out. If you do, I hope you're buying their single already. I'm refinding my faith in love and music... thank god for that.

Edit:

Some more mp3s (mainly demos/unfinished mixes), as requested:
New Art For The People
We Just Wanna B 16
Julia, We Don't Live In The 60s
The British Left In Wartime
So Very Pretty
Fun Is For The Feeble Minded

I will get round to putting some more up eventually.

Oh and:

July 28th - 'Night of 1000 Scenesters' @ The Purple Turtle:
Luxembourg
The Indelicates

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.
